Translating Japanese into Korean

Translating Japanese into Korean

Note: Before you start reading this post please be aware that
you have to know at least the basics of each language to be able to read,
and intermediate level of proficiency to be able to comprehend the purpose and essence of this post.

Although my university major was nothing related to language studies (Business Administration), translation has been my recent hobby/obsession/job.
After I graduated from university all I have been doing is either studying Japanese or Korean.

Now that I am studying these two languages comparison never ends, as I am using a Japanese-Korean dictionary (Link: http://jpdic.naver.com/) , in addition to the Kanji/Hanji study that keeps my mind aware of details like Kanji's old or outdated forms that are actually present in Hanja.

One great feature I recently discovered about studying these two languages is translation which, in my opinion, is a strength point for the JapaneseKorean learner over the EnglishJapanese or the EnglishKorean. This assumption is built on my own experience and preference so it might seem biased and/or not applicable to your study, but here I invite you to check out my work:

What I have typed in the table below is a Japanese lesson on honorifics (Keigo) from the book (初級が終わったら始めよう 新にほんご敬語トレーニング) (Amazon Link: https://www.amazon.co.jp/新・にほんご敬語トレーニング-金子広幸/dp/4872178564) .
I used the lesson's dialogue to do my honorifics Korean homework, which basically was a practice for Korean honorifics and JapaneseKorean translation.

My Recipe for Complete Solo Beginners:
Type the Japanese text to the instant translator on Naver instant translator (link: http://translate.naver.com/#/ko/ja)
Copy any word you do not understand and get more information and example sentences on Naver Dictionary (link: http://jpdic.naver.com/)
Note that in most cases the translation might be correct but the level of honorifics might not be very accurate.
Adjust the vocabulary and levels of respect to be appropriate to the context and people involved.

*WARNING: THIS METHOD IS NOT SCHIENTIFICALLY PROVEN TO BE 100% ACCURATE AND RANIYANYA IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGES THAT MIGHT OCCUR AS A RESULT OF MISTRANSLATION.

This was just an idea I had since my Korean teacher always gives me a homework of writing sentences to practice the new lesson. But it was only recently that I have started to write paragraphs to improve my composition skills, find out more about connectives, and making sense of my language skills in context.

The Korean text down in the table is my homework after I had it checked by my teacher. Note that my teacher did not know about my translation attempt and only focused on correcting my Korean text.

But to be honest I am not sure of how accurate this translation is, and it would have been more matching and true to the original text if a JapaneseKorean specialist checked/corrected it.

私たちは色々話しましたから、楽しい時間を過ごすことができました。

Like I always end my posts my purpose is to think out loudly to show you one possibility you wouldn't have thought of, or might not have thought to be actually applicable.
Of course I would be happier if I could specialize in Language studies and produce better translations, but all I am doing is working with the present resources and testing ways to improve my language skills.
Please share your Language-Skill-Boosting Recipe in the comments below so we can share more individual methods and discover unconventional possibilities.
